Judge Dave Dreyer
- Judge Dreyer has been a lawyer for 29 years, including
12 years on the bench, presiding over 20,000 cases and
250 jury trials.
- Judge Dreyer was re-elected for a third term as Marion
Superior Court Judge in November 2008. Thank you for your
support!
- In 1998, the Indiana Supreme Court appointed Judge
Dreyer to chair the Heartland Pro Bono Council and expand
opportunities for lawyers to perform pro bono service.
He received the Pro Bono Publico Award in 2002 from the
Indiana Bar Foundation, and the Randall T. Shepard Award
in 2004.
- In 2000, Judge Dreyer was appointed as Chair of the
Civil Division, and worked diligently to improve court
security and technology.
- Judge Dreyer has taught at numerous bar and ICLEF seminars,
and serves as associate faculty for several law-related
classes at IUPUI. He was cited as SPEA ’s Associate
Faculty of the Year in 2003 and 2006.
- In December 2006, Judge Dreyer earned a Masters of
Judicial Studies from the University of Nevada Reno and
National Judicial College .
- Judge Dreyer is involved in scores of other community
and legal projects, and was a founding member of the Sagamore
Inn of Court
- Judge Dreyer received a 92% approval rating in a 2008
Indianapolis Bar Association survey of
local attorneys.
But more importantly, Judge Dreyer has the energy, dedication
and temperament that are so vitally needed in our judges
in this day and age. As many of us have come to know him
over the years, he has earned the respect of his peers for
calm and deliberative thinking, great intellect and knowledge
of law, and a friendly and engaging personality.
